Community Planning Services

The Town of Coupeville is seeking an individual to provide planning services. Either an employee relationship or professional service contract will be considered. The position is part-time, approximately 16 hours per week.

Primary duties of the planner are to review and process land use applications and associated SEPA review, and to review and process development and building applications subject to the Community Design Standards and Design Guidelines for Ebey’s Landing National Historic Reserve. The planner provides staff support to the Planning Commission, Town Council and the Historic Preservation Commission.

Desired qualifications include: Experience and training in planning in a municipal environment. Knowledge and familiarity with GMA, SEPA and the Shoreline Management Act. Ability to interface with the public. Ability to speak and write clearly. Computer proficiency.
